The Vastly Growing Need for Student Accommodation
The student journal MOMENTUM has published an article focusing on the growing amount of students being accepted at Danish universities, and the challenge this poses for students when it comes to finding accommodation. It is especially the international students that have difficulty entering the Danish housing market. In Copenhagen alone, the number of new students is expected to rise by 4,500 this summer, making it necessary for the Municipality to take up this issue. With 200-300 new houses being built for Copenhagen's students, "an extra nought must be added to this number, if there should be any effect whatsoever", says Karl Kristiansen, vice-president of Copenhagen University's student council.
